Huawei’s Director of Public Relations and Channel for the CEMAC zone, discusses the interest of the 1st annual exchange summit between Huawei and its CEMAC partners, organized on July 13, 2022 in Douala.
How do you find partners and do you think that the digitalization and transformation of Cameroon can really work with Huawei?
It must be said that today, Huawei communicates an approach for the development of the digital economy which is the development of a local ecosystem. This is the most important thing to remember because the local ecosystem is established on site. And it is this ecosystem that will ensure the continuity and sustainability of the development of the digital economy.
The idea is to be able to bring together the actors, partners and customers of digital transformation. After Covid-19, we undeniably understood that digital transformation was the need for the future and today Huawei as a world leader in the field of ICT comes to support all partners but even better to build a ecosystem that allows its partners and customers to provide the appropriate solutions for a successful digital transformation. Studies have proven that companies that successfully complete their digital transformation can multiply their turnover up to 5 times, they improve in quality of service, in quality of customer management, in quality of innovation, in quality performance, activity control but above all a better operation to better serve their customers and in this way companies can only grow.
Huawei is positioned today as this partner who, unlike others, has solutions « end to end » in the process of digital transformation for just about every industry whether in transportation, banking, energy, education,
…Huawei has a set of solutions that address the issues of all industries to be able to support digital transformation.
We thought today of bringing together the partners and certain targeted customers so that they understand that for a successful model, these two parties would have to come together. The customer who is local and the partner who is local, who can accompany him on site, be there every day close to him, and the Huawei team which has also been established in Cameroon for more than 17 years, and who is there to accompany this partner.
When we talk about digital economy in other countries, it contributes more than 15-20% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP). But here in Cameroon, it currently contributes less than 10% of the GDP, and it is through all these actions, all this synergy of partners who are also integrators that we are going to build a model of partners who can supporting government success and strategies.
It’s quite interesting for us because we saw a room full to bursting and we saw the dynamism of all our partners and customers showed great interest and we hope to be able to organize this kind of mini-summit each time that possibility is wanted so that together we build a prosperous digital Cameroon with Huawei.
