«Ct is in difficulties that you recognize your true friends”, they say. The government of transition learned this the hard way, if we stick to the words of the Prime Minister, in front of the deputies of the ALT. “Partners who, however, do business in Burkina Faso, refused to sell us weapons, worse, some partners even dissuaded others from doing so”.
Despite these obstructions and, following the famous saying that it is the terrain that commands the manoeuvre, Burkina Faso has opened up new diplomatic and military horizons for waging its war. France remains until today, the only country with which Burkina no longer maintains military cooperation. The others are therefore in duplicity and when it comes time to take stock, the Burkinabè will remember their true friends.
But in the meantime, our new friends should be able to show more enthusiasm in their support. The country will not always be able to buy cash, because the war effort wears down the public treasury, even households.
Russia, China, Turkey, Iran, North Korea, Venezuela are now our visible allies. Their support is eagerly awaited to get out of this war and hope to continue the idyll in the long term and share together the dividends of victory.o
