Editorial: CSC – Journal L’Economiste du Faso

LThe draft law on the CSC, certain articles of which are considered a democratic step backwards by professional media organizations, was sent to the ALT.

Stakeholder hearings have begun, with a view to preparing the plenary session which will adopt it. And these hearings begin in the middle of the International Press Freedom Festival, on 10e of the kind.

And guess who chaired the opening ceremony and whose institution has always supported the festival? The President of the Transitional Legislative Assembly.

Unique opportunity for the organizing committee to openly question him, in front of an audience of journalists from the four corners of the world. The Assembly actually has the last word on the fate of this law on these points deemed non-consensual. That’s the importance of ongoing hearings.

The deputies will get for themselves an idea of what professionals in the information and communication sector think and will decide in their soul and conscience whether this text of law serves the interests of all parties and therefore, that from Faso. If the Transitional Legislative Assembly ever ratifies the law as it was submitted, it will be binding on everyone until further revision.
