The Charles Bukowski of Algerian literature, Djillali Khellas, who is no longer presented, after the successive trilogy entitled Zaman El Ghirbane (The time of the crows), Leilat El Katala (The night of the assassins) and Horath El Bahr (The laborers of la mer), returns soon with a new novel L’Homme qui wrote sur son main, which will always appear by its faithful publisher Casbah Editions.
Djillali Khellas, 69, whose novels have already been translated into the language of Goethe, Dante, Tolstoy or even that of Cervantes – A sea of seagulls (1995), recently translated into Spanish – is still green, denying gerontology. He still writes, as the title of his new book indicates, The Man Who Writes On His Hand. Always the heart on the hand, generously generating and productive. Always moving the lines… with the current hand of his pen. The idea of The Man Writing on His Hand dates back to a year and a half ago.
