Edition Thionville – Hayange | Illegal football match: police whistle the end of the game

Thionville police feared a large-scale demonstration like the informal football match which gathered hundreds of people in Strasbourg on Sunday 23 May. Nothing comparable, Tuesday afternoon, in Terville, but twenty young college kids had made a date around the city-stadium on rue Fabert, in the Acacias district.

After several friendly matches gone unnoticed in recent days, the “final” was said to be disputed on Tuesday. The event was interrupted even before the start of the match by a control operation carried out by the police from the Thionville police station with the support of the municipal police.

Even if the mild weather and the end of confinement make everyone want to kick the ball, this type of gathering is prohibited in the context of the state of health emergency.

The police reminded the young players of the rules in force to limit the spread of the coronavirus: parks, gardens and stadiums are closed, gatherings of more than ten people and contact sports are prohibited.

The identities of the miners gathered in Terville have been noted. They face a fine of € 135.
