Edition Metz and agglomeration | Norbert brings 10 minutes of daily happiness to his neighborhood

Norbert Dietz, 82, has lived in Saint-Julien-lès-Metz for a very long time. Every evening, from his residence on rue François-Simon, he participates in the support of nursing staff from his window with applause, like many of his neighbors.

Very appreciated and known by his entourage for his talent as a violinist, but also for his kindness, some suggested to him: “Norbert, it would be good to share your talent as a violinist with the neighbors. He didn’t take long to pray. The next day at 8 p.m., he took his instrument, to the delight of the residents of the neighborhood who appreciated these 10 minutes of music on songs by Charles Aznavour or other well-known tunes, ending with Parlez-moi d’amour, what better right now …

Violin teacher

A real success for Norbert who explains, in all humility, simply wanting to make his small contribution to all those who give of themselves to face the coronavirus.

This violin teacher “grew up” to the sound of ONL (Orchester national de Lorraine) instruments and spent his entire career at the Metz Conservatory, as a violin teacher, then director of the Thionville Conservatory.

A great initiative that deserves to be commended. May Norbert remain confined taking care of him and his wife Denise, and may he continue, during the time of confinement, to enchant the ears of his neighbors!
