Edition Metz and agglomeration | Deconfinement: parks and gardens reopen this weekend

COVID: 1018 deaths as of May 27

The coronavirus epidemic is losing ground in Moselle, confirms the Regional Health Agency, which participated on May 29 in Metz in a situation before the second phase of deconfinement, under the aegis of the prefect Didier Martin, at the Club de the Press in Metz. 1,018 people have died in Moselle since the start of the Covid-19 crisis. 793 died in hospital, including 181 nursing home residents who died in hospital. To this must be added 223 residents, dead in establishments, and 2 disabled people. 34 patients are supported in intensive care in the department. “COVID cases now represent only 27.4% of patients treated in intensive care units in the Moselle, knowing that the alert threshold is now set at 40%,” said Lamia Himer, ARS delegate 57. All the other health indicators are fairly positive: circulation of the virus (orange, between 10 and 50 per 100,000 inhabitants), the rate of positivity of the tests (green), and the rate of reproduction of the virus (green, less than 1).

Openings and closings

As Didier Martin reminded us, “the parks and gardens, closed for the moment in the red zone, will reopen this Saturday. In fact, in some cities, preparations are underway as of this Friday afternoon. ” Banned in the red zone, the ponds and lakes of the department are still closed until June 2, but twenty-one exemptions have been granted by the prefect and have reopened (list below). Ditto for some small museums, which have requested (and obtained) a derogation: the Citadel of Bitche, the Crystal Museum of Saint-Louis, the Tour-aux-Puces Museum in Thionville and the Amnéville aquarium (since May 13). Many restrictions remain in force, at least until June 21: cinemas, nightclubs, stadiums, team sports will remain closed. Games rooms, such as the Amnéville Casino (see also on the General Information pages) reopen, them, partially from Tuesday, June 2. “Likewise, the pools will not all open on Tuesday, given the health protocols to be implemented, but gradually,” observes the prefect.
