The French Embassy in Lebanon and ESA Business School have launched Ed’Innov, group for innovation in education in Lebanon. The official launch took place this Monday, June 7 at ESA Business school, in the presence of Ms. Anne Grillo, Ambassador of France to Lebanon.

Supported by the French Embassy in Lebanon and the ESA, the Ed’Innov project is a group that brings together actors in education and Ed-tech innovation, Lebanese and French in order to bring out innovative solutions to serve and for the benefit of the quality of education in Lebanon, in particular French-speaking. Institutional leaders, teachers, students, parents of pupils, researchers, experts in French-speaking education, publishers and entrepreneurs in digital education are thus called upon to work together to develop access for all to innovative solutions and contribute to the development of the economic sector. digital education in Lebanon.

In front of a hundred face-to-face and online participants, Ms. Grillo recalled France’s commitment to education in Lebanon. She called for a common mobilization in favor of a dynamic of the future to preserve, thanks to innovation, the excellence of French-speaking education in Lebanon, while emphasizing the exemplary nature of an education system that derives its strength from its pluralism, its diversity and its ability to play a fundamental role in the cohesion of the country.

Mr. Maxence Duault, Director of ESA Business School, in turn underlined the strong potential of the Smart Esa incubator, which has so far supported around a hundred Lebanese startups and is increasingly opening up to the sector. education. The stakes and challenges are immense, both technologically and educationally: Ed’Innov will function as a collective “research and development” center, at the service of education in Lebanon.

The next meetings :

In September 2021, Ed’Innov will start a four-month acceleration program to support Lebanese digital educational startups within Smart ESA. A hackathon will be organized in November around “frugal innovation”, in response to the need for accessible and inexpensive educational solutions. Finally, an international conference on innovation in the education sector in Beirut will close the year 2021.
