Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Edhy Prabowo arrested in the KPK’s arrest operation (OTT) early this morning. The chairman of the Indonesian Fishermen’s Association (HNSI), Pekalongan City, Imam, admitted that he was concerned and had talked about Edhy’s policies.
“Yes, we Pekalongan fishermen are concerned about what happened. Pak Edhy is known to support fishermen,” said Imam when contacted. detikcom, Wednesday (11/25/2020).
“Whatever changes in the ministry (Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries), as long as Pak Edhy, Pekalongan is not affected. Because in Pekalongan, the fishing gear has been environmentally friendly for a long time. Also related to lobsters and so on in Pekalongan, there is not yet,” he continued.
In addition, said Imam, he assessed Edhy’s policies on licensing and insurance to help fishermen. Although the policy is a continuation of the previous minister.
“Yes, from the old days, Mrs. Susi, there was also insurance and licensing online so fast. But at Pak Edhy the licensing process was continued and the permit process was accelerated again, “he said.
“The insurance was from the Minister, Mrs. Susi, then the minister continued with the change of cards. In the past, fishermen cards, now use the Kusuka card, even those (ships) that are under 10 GT,” he said.
Meanwhile, for boats over 10 GT, according to Imam, the premiums are paid by the fishermen themselves. Furthermore, it is still a matter of licensing, Imam assesses that the response in the processing process is faster.
“Use the online complete requirements directly to the process. If (the document) is missing, there is an indication of an error or deficiency where it is corrected immediately,” explained Imam.
“We have never had a direct dialogue with the Minister. So we don’t really know him,” he concluded.
