As the talk show “Elephant in the studio” reveals Edgars Pujats, he had not specially planned such a large family. It should be noted that Edgar’s second wife is young compared to his own. “Therefore, we created a family almost from scratch. Four more children were born,” says Edgars.
Many say – where there is one child, there are also two and a third and a fourth. “I kind of agree with that,” says Edgars.
Speaking about what it’s like to become a father in his youth and now, the actor emphasizes: “Then love burst out of every pore, pounded through the brain. I myself was not so experienced in all areas. They wanted bohemian, theater, there would be fame, art, hair was flying… The older sons, especially Kristapiņas, received less attention from my side.
Of course, moms are moms, and thanks to the wonderful women in my life,” says Pujāts and admits that he lives for this all his life. “I can honestly say that. Kristaps and I have talked and discussed about it, but I feel guilty looking back on it now,” says the actor.
With his eldest son, Kristaps Pujāts, he was able to find a common language through music, and last year both of them went on stage together. The actor says that his son is very inwardly oriented and it was Edgar’s initiative to start making music together.
The actor says that life with six children is not easy. “It is a big responsibility for me and also for the new mother. It’s a mutual thing, because I am aware that I have to keep myself in shape, because I don’t want the children to go to kindergarten and say: “Opis came after me?”

It depends on you, what kind of shape and spirit you will maintain, how you will talk to the children, how you will feel yourself,” says Pujāts. He believes that you should work together with children as much as possible: “As much as possible, try to jump, do, do sports, talk together.”
When the youngest child of the actor was born, he was 52 years old. And becoming a dad at this age, Edgar also has some worries. “When thinking about the future, visions creep in, because with my character, raving, stormy perception of life – in every way – I also think about making money. Of course, opinions are different and everyone will put their own opinions on why children are still born at such a normal age, but that should remain between me and my wife.
But I can say one thing – I think about this question more and more often, because you will have to be very stressed, because the theater is like that… If you are not in demand for some filming… Well, I create my projects, I get invited, but you have to look at it all very carefully, so that my children would not suffer, because I am responsible for them to have a future, at least after school and studies. But I think I can always find a solution,” says Pujāts and adds that there is still enough strength in the bones.
