After officially announcing his retirement, tributes are pouring in for Eden Hazard. His former clubs think of him.
Having started with the Royale Union Tubize-Braine Formation in Belgium, Eden Hazard will have known three clubs in his career as a professional footballer. They glanced at their former left winger after the announcement of the end of his career, this Tuesday, October 10, 2023.
Hazard ends his career
While the news has leaked since his release by Real Madrid this summer, it is now official, this Tuesday, October 10, 2023. So, Eden Hazard ended his football career after fifteen years at the high level. He lays down his arms after recent years marked by injuries at Real Madrid.
“You have to know how to listen to yourself and say stop at the right time. After 16 years of career and more than 700 matches played, I decided to end my career as a professional footballer. I was able to realize my dream, play and have fun on the fields across Europe and the world. During my career I have met great people, managers, coaches, teammates and I wanted to particularly thank the clubs I have been through: LOSC, Chelsea and Real Madrid; and obviously thank the Belgian Selection again”Hazard wrote on Instagram.

Lille, Chelsea and Real Madrid salute Hazard
Unlike many other professional footballers, Eden Hazard will only have played three clubs in his career. Spotted in 2005 by Lille where he trained before joining the professional club three years later. The Ligue 1 club pays tribute to its former striker.

Eden Hazard’s second club, Chelsea where the former Belgian international (126 caps, 33 goals) spent five seasons, paid tribute to Hazard. “In the flesh, Eden Hazard was simply wonderful to watch. For its part, Real Madrid, which did not benefit too much from the Belgian’s genius, wanted to pay tribute to him. “Following the announcement by Eden Hazard of his retirement from football as a professional player, Real Madrid CF would like to express its gratitude and affection to a player who arrived at our club in 2019 and who, during the four seasons in which he belonged to our team, won 8 titles: 1 European Cup, 1 Club World Cup, 1 European Super Cup, 2 Ligas, 1 Copa del Rey and 2 Spanish Super Cups. As a reminder, with LOSC, Hazard won Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France with Lille (2011). He was named best player in Ligue 1 in 2011 and 2012. At Chelsea, the Belgian was voted best player in the Premier League (2015) and player of the season in the Europa League (2019). With the Blues, the Premier League with Chelsea (2015 and 2017). At Real Madrid, he lifts the Champions League trophy (2022) and La Liga (2020, 2022), 1 Club World Cup, 1 European Super Cup, 1 Copa del Rey and 2 Spanish Super Cups .
