Edeka notice causes anger among customers – “What the hell”

A notice in a branch of the supermarket chain Edeka caused a stir on Twitter.

Some find it good, others don’t. In any case, the topic of gender causes plenty of discussion. This also applies to Edeka customers. Numerous users shared their opinion on the subject under a tweet.

Man posts Edeka notice online

“When the most German supermarket is too stupid to speak German. What the hell is a customer?” asks a Twitter user. He also posts a picture of an Edeka notice. The sign reads: “Dear customers, we would like to point out that for ecological reasons, Monday will no longer be the delivery day from March 1st, 2023. We ask for your understanding.”

But the Twitter user shows no understanding – at least not when it comes to gender issues. And numerous other Twitter users agree with him under the post. “Germany is laughed at everywhere because of this madness. I’m glad my school days are over and I won’t go along with this nonsense. If you don’t have problems, you create them,” writes one man, for example.

Edeka: Some Twitter users are also in favor of gender

“I have to admit that as a woman I am annoyed by this gendering. I don’t give a damn if I’m called a customer, a guest, a patient. Some complain about it, I have other worries in life than that crap,” writes one woman, for example.

But there are also some who are in favor of gendering. “If you’re too stupid to understand that language changes… Oh, it’s good that nobody knows what your name is in real life” and “It’s not called a customer, is it? That is absolutely correct compared to Edeka,” it says under the tweet.

Everyone has their own opinion on gender…
