Eddy Marcano, despite the restrictions of the pandemic, has not stopped working and there are several projects in which he is working, one of them is his presentation at the Latin American Cultural Week in New York City (Latin American Cultural Week of New York ) in its virtual edition 2020, with a digital concert that will be available from December 5 to 12 through the link: https://lacw.net/portfolio-items/serenade/
The Venezuelan violinist will perform at such an important meeting with the young classical guitar virtuoso Manuel Ángel Barrios, under the figure of Marcano – Barrios Dúo. The public from anywhere in the world will be able to enjoy a sound journey through the geography of Latin American music embodied in Serenade through violin and guitar. They will perform works by Venezuelan, Argentine, Brazilian, Puerto Rican composers and much more.
“I am very happy to be able to participate once again in the Latin American Cultural Week with this virtual edition, where I will share talent with a young guitarist whom I admire and respect very much, such as Manuel Ángel Barrios, a true guitar promise, who has a great future ahead and who also knows how to interpret the music of Venezuela and Latin America very well. This violin and guitar duo is sounding very well as a serenade, I am sure that the public will enjoy the repertoire that we are preparing ”, said Eddy Marcano.
It is worth remembering that one of the most important events for Latin American culture that take place in New York City and throughout the United States is the Latin American Cultural Week (Latin American Cultural Week), organized by the Pamar Foundation, created in 1984 by the renowned Uruguayan pianist Polly Ferman, who is currently its artistic director and whose executive director is Raúl Orlando Edwards. Venezuelan traditional music has always been present, occupying a special place mainly thanks to maestro Eddy Marcano.
