Ed Sheeran to release intimate album “Subtract” co-written and co-produced by Aaron Dessner.

Two and a half years after the huge Equals sold over 4.7 million copies worldwide. Ed Sheeran will unveil on May 5 his 6e albums only Subtract co-written and co-produced by Aaron Dessner of The National. An album that the singer announces as intimate, tackling very personal themes. The artist had on several occasions presented to his fans the titles of this new album as “Eyes closed” on his social networks but also during his concerts, in particular the title “Boat” during his concert at the Accor Arena in Paris on April 2.

This Monday, April 10, the singer who was in concert in New York took the opportunity to present this new opus in its entirety! An experience he comments on his networks: “I replayed the entire Subtract last night, for the first time on American soil. It was moving, but electric, I loved it. Thank you all for coming, there is less than a month left before the release of the album, I can’t wait”.

A privileged moment that the fans present at the concert describe as uniqueI think people weren’t just singing. They were really listening to what he was saying. It’s really, you know, him sharing his life, his work with us”.

The interpreter of “Eyes closed” is also to be found in “The Sum of it All” May 3 on Disney+. A documentary which was initially to evoke his artistic journey but which ultimately is also punctuated by his personal life as the singer explains: “Initially it was just a documentary about the creation of an album. But as my life had a few twists, the subject of the album changed and so did the documentary. I wanted to put the album in context because it deals with very personal subjects.”
