Ed Sheeran nearly knocked out Elton John as they shot the music video for their Christmas song, Merry Christmas !
“We just shot a Christmas clip. Oh, man. I almost killed him with a bell. In the video, there is a passage where I am dressed as some sort of sexy Santa Claus, and I shoot in a gift package. Except the gift had a big metal bell on top. I showed him the footage today, because we slowed it down and the bell flies right behind his head and it could have crashed into his head, ”the singer confessed during an interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music.
Good mood
“Oh my God, (the shudder) of horror that ran through my body as the gift flew through the air. But, man, the clip is crazy. We parodied all the great English Christmas videos that come out for the holidays, ”continued Ed Sheeran.
All the profits from this soberly titled song Merry Christmas will go to two foundations which hold a special place in the hearts of the two artists. Indeed, it is the Elton John AIDS Foundation which supports research against AIDS since 1992, as well as the Ed Sheeran Suffolk Music Foundation which helps children to have access to instruments and music lessons.
