The Uruguayan Film School (ECU) presents its new proposal for adolescents: The adventure. It is a meeting space for adolescents between 13 and 17 years old, a playful experience and creative awareness to share the joy of watching, thinking and creating around cinema. The Coordination will be in charge of the director and teacher Jasmine Hamawi, graduated from the ECU Filmmaking Career. The start is scheduled for April 2021.
“There is only momentum, an impulsive point whereby the apple begins to grow deep, in the seed, and then a little more and more. (…) You have to be what you are and be fully like nature ” Jonas Mekas (Cineasta)
The adventure It is a meeting place for adolescents between 13 and 17 years old, a playful experience and creative awareness to share the joy of watching, thinking and creating around cinema.
The adventure proposes a comprehensive training that understands cinema as an art that crosses and is crossed by all the arts. Every Saturday we will explore various forms of expression and artistic creation linked to cinema, we will pose cinematographic challenges, we will see and discuss many films and other audiovisual materials. In addition, we will have guests who will share their love for cinema and art, we will visit other spaces in the area that inspire us (museums, theaters, galleries and cultural centers), we will listen and look carefully to discover new sounds, lights, colors and textures, and from them we will write new stories, navigating between the real and the fictional.
It will essentially be a space of trust and listening, in which to share and reflect on how we feel in order to create from what happens to us and from the reality that surrounds us. A space to experience collective construction processes that are nurtured by the diversity of the group, encouraging our particular views and points of view.
The adventure has five thematic modules (Realization – Laboratories – Cinema Forum – Visitors – Departures) that will be interspersed throughout the year, each with its own dynamics and particular proposals but with the same objective: to encourage imagination, curiosity, reflection, experimentation, exchange and sensitivity.
