ECOWAS CENTER FOR BUSINESS (CCDG) AND THE REGIONAL AGREEMENT FOR AGRICULTURE (ARAA) JOIN TOGETHER TO PROMOTE GENDER AND AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT IN WEST AFRICA
The ECOWAS Center for Gender Development (CCDG) and the Regional Agency for Agriculture and Food (ARAA) held on July 25, 2024 in Lomé, Togo, the first working session focused on avenues for cooperation between the two study institution. This working session, which took place at the headquarters of ARAA, marks an important step towards strengthening the consideration of gender in development projects, especially those regarding agricultural development in West Africa.
This meeting provided an opportunity to discuss possible areas of cooperation between the two organizations with a view to increasing cooperation in their own projects. Representatives of the two delegations including their respective leaders examined the points of cooperation from CCDG and ARAA projects now and in the future with special attention to be given to projects for the empowerment of women rural and food and nutrition security.
