After 3 days of meeting on a possible military intervention in Niger, the chiefs of staff of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) ended, this Friday, August 4 in Abuja (Nigeria) their encounter.
The said organization thus says it is ready for a “possible military intervention” against the putschists in Niger. At least that is what Abdel-Fatau Musah, Commissioner for Political Affairs and Security within the organization, announced on Friday August 4, 2023.

Indeed, according to information from RFI, “All the elements in this direction were developed during this meeting, including the necessary resources, but also the manner and the moment”. The same source adds, it is a robust mandate which is given to the force which will be engaged in the event of military intervention in Niger. This includes the use of force with authorized offensive actions.
This operation will be led by Nigeria, which will have a leading role with the most important device, a land, air and sea device. As for the other contributing countries, there would be Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, with a promise from Senegal . Other countries will also be able to report…
