[헤럴드경제=서재근 기자] EcoPro CEO Song Ho-jun emphasized that for sustainable growth, we need to have technological leadership and create new markets.
CEO Song said in his New Year’s address on the 1st, “EcoPro has been leading the market by supporting manufacturing competitiveness through differentiated high nickel technology and closed loop system construction.” He added, “Ecopro’s differentiated technology, high nickel, as well as mid nickel and LFP (lithium “We need to secure competitiveness in battery material technology,” he said.
“As the business environment deteriorates, it is changing into a market where only prepared companies and competitive players can survive. “In the face of harsh reality, we cannot be a winner in the market without technological leadership,” he said. “I hope this will be the year of a ‘technological coup’ by further upgrading high-nickel technology and further developing mid-nickel and LFP technologies.”
CEO Song also emphasized the need for customer diversification. He said, “The brand Ecopro is trusted and valued in the market, and its technology is ahead of its competitors,” and urged, “Let’s make sure to secure new customers with more sophisticated compasses and maps.”
CEO Song also requested active cooperation from family companies, saying that the competitiveness of the ‘closed loop system’, a secondary battery ecosystem established by EcoPro at the Pohang campus, can be further differentiated during a recession. The closed loop system is a system in which all processes, from battery recycling to cathode material production, are handled at one business site.
In addition, CEO Song said, “EcoPro has grown with the help of the capital market and the local community,” and added, “Let’s turn our antenna to the market and use it as a standard for decision-making.”
CEO Song said, “The power of shareholders who participated and supported the paid-in capital increase process from EcoPro in 2007 to Materials last year is the driving force behind our growth,” adding, “The support from local residents in Chungcheong and Pohang also helped greatly in the growth of EcoPro.” “It’s done,” he said.
Meanwhile, EcoPro plans to establish a public interest foundation this year to build local arts, culture, and education infrastructure, following former EcoPro Chairman Lee Dong-chae’s will to help prevent local extinction as a corporate citizen.
