Versoix will release from the payment of the rent shops renting premises belonging to the Commune and whose activity is suspended by the measures of the Federal Council. This release takes effect on March 15, 2020, until the date on which these measures end. “It is important to give a positive signal to companies in this period of crisis, this to try to save jobs and avoid ending up all with empty arches when the crisis is over. It is possible, but we must act immediately! ” notes Patrick Malek-Asghar, magistrate in charge of Finance and Management. The rents of commercial space rented to companies whose activity was not targeted by the Federal Council decision are not affected, but the Administrative Council says it is ready “to examine individual situations on a case-by-case basis”. He urges municipal and cantonal foundations with similar rentals in Versoix to adopt the same position, and private owners to plan to do so also if they have the possibility.
