Erfurt (dpa / th) – As part of the emergency aid program of the Thuringian Ministry of Economics on the occasion of the Corona crisis, 53.4 million euros have already been paid out. The ministry announced this on Thursday in Erfurt. There were currently 33,000 applications for aid, of which 11,000 had already been processed and over 8,000 had already been approved. “The disbursement of the funds is progressing well overall, the procedures are accelerating,” said Minister of Economics Wolfgang Tiefensee (SPD) according to the announcement.
He is assuming that in the week after Easter, the majority of all applications now available have been processed and the funds have reached the companies. At the same time, he underlined that in Thuringia, a stop to payments, as was imposed due to attempted fraud in North Rhine-Westphalia, was not necessary. The Thüringer Aufbaubank (TAB) has established suitable mechanisms to rule out successful applications with data stolen from fake websites.
In the previous application process, it has been shown that around a quarter of the applications submitted for Corona emergency aid were incomplete or incorrect or had been submitted several times.
