The economic benefits of the 48 tourist sites of the Gard Tourist Sites Club are estimated at 405 million euros each year, reveals a survey carried out in 2023 by the marketing research firm Id & co on behalf of the CCI Gard and presented February 6 in Nîmes.
A figure calculated by adding direct impact, indirect impact and induced impact. The direct benefits, first of all, namely the turnover of the 48 tourist sites in Gard, reach an amount of 31 million euros. The indirect benefits, then, are of the order of 365.8 million euros. They include off-site spending by tourists and day trippers (357.7 million euros) and site payroll (8.3 million euros). Finally, the induced benefits are estimated at 7.8 million euros. “They take into account part of the financial flows injected into the economy by the first-tier Gard suppliers of each tourist site and the disposable income of their employees whose household consumes in the area studied,” specifies the CCI Gard.
