Clubs might not survive financially
Indeed, with the freeze of relegation aid decided by the LFP (because they are counted in TV rights), the global financial crisis and the uncertainty linked to the solidarity fund just created, several clubs could not resist. This is for example the case of the last of the current classification: Béziers, Le Puy, Gazélec Ajaccio and Toulon. While echoes have come up and explain that the 18 National clubs are still waiting between 100 and 350,000 euros by the end of the season. And this without counting the income related to the matches. A leader, for example, explained that without an action plan and adaptation, it is the killing of clubs relegated from N1 to N2. For its part, the FFF explained that a white season is unthinkable despite the wish of some National 1 clubs. Regarding the descents, the clubs are pushing for a cancellation for mainly economic reasons because the clubs could economically have resisted a descent. in the event of a “normal” season, but not in the current state of affairs. In the event of a freeze at the bottom of the table, the National clubs have displayed their unity and validated the idea of a rebalancing season, with 22 clubs and more relegations for the 2020-2021 season. The FFF must decide this Thursday on the future of the division.
