The Council of Economic Affairs (WAK) now wants to smooth the waves a bit. Operators of companies that have to remain closed beyond April 27th should receive a waiver of a maximum of three months’ rent on the Covid 19 loan they received. The Commission resolved this request by 9 votes to 4, Parliament’s services said on Tuesday.

Bankruptcies should be avoided
The majority of the Commission believes that rents are a significant burden for companies that find it difficult to find solutions with the landlord. It is therefore important for them to be able to count on state support. It is about avoiding bankruptcies or hasty business tasks. The measure should only be used in cases of hardship.
