NEW YORK (Agefi-Dow Jones)–Crude prices closed higher for the second straight session on Tuesday in New York. Hopes of further output declines by OPEC and its allies at their upcoming meeting on Sunday are supporting prices, said Christin Kelley, commodity analyst at Schneider Electric. “The growing protest against health restriction measures in China also bodes well for a reopening of the country’s economy,” which would be favorable to demand, she adds. The WTI light crude oil contract for January delivery edged up 96 cents, or 1.2%, to $78.20 at the close.
