EC Draw 2022: Criminal Investigation Launched After Sex Sounds Interrupt Broadcast

The draw for the EC took place on the second of December and was broadcast in Sweden on both SVT and TV4 Play.

Everything went as usual when it was former big players who were on stage and would draw the lots. When it was time for the C-pot to be drawn, Danish Brian Laudrup stepped forward.

Then moaning sex sounds were heard in the room. The sounds seeped out on television broadcasts around the world.

The raffle’s presenter Giorgio Marchetti explained to those in the venue and the viewers that there was some noise that was interfering with the broadcasts.

Started a criminal investigation

What happened was that two people entered the room where the draw took place and played the noises. They must have entered via the catering entrance in the morning before the draw.

Uefa has expressed serious concern about the safety of the German organizers ahead of next year’s EC playoffs, writes The Times.

Prosecutors in Hamburg, where the draw took place, have launched a criminal investigation and are looking for the people caught on camera.

A third involved

The Times writes that Uefa has clearly expressed to the EC organizers that the security breach is “unacceptable” and that if a mobile phone could easily be hidden – then it could just as well have been something much more serious.

The newspaper also writes that there may have been a third person involved. An English comedian who claims to have done the same thing during a BBC broadcast of an FA Cup match.
