/ world today news/ The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development expects that in the next 18 months the Russian economy will begin to recover, reports RIA Novosti on Tuesday (May 10).
“In the next 18 months, the Russian economy may go from recession to growth,” said EBRD President Suma Chakrabarti, quoted by the agency.
According to him, Russia is now going through a difficult period due to Western sanctions and lower oil prices. However, the latest forecasts of economists indicate that in the coming year and a half the economic decline may be replaced by growth and the country may emerge from recession.
The IMF also gives an optimistic forecast for the development of the Russian economy.
