Eboli, the fire emergency continues – The City of Salerno

Summer fires, still problems in various areas of the city Eboli. Meanwhile, investigations continue into the car that burned on Saturday in the early hours of the morning in Santa Cecilia. Investigators are checking the video surveillance images of the area, to see if they can identify the alleged arsonist who probably started the flames. The Mercedes, completely engulfed and blackened by the flames, is thought to be that of one of the participants in the August 15th brawlstill in the outskirts of Santa Cecilia, a few meters from the Carabinieri barracks. Two families came to blows, one resident in the north, but originally from the area and the other from the Eboli coastal strip. Other fires were recorded on the mountains of Eboli, Campolongo and also in Cioffi.

They follow those of the past few days also concerning a farm in Fiocche, and precisely the car of Santa Cecilia. Super work for the red helmets, who this time had to quell blackened brushwood and reeds, probably either from the torrid heat or from the hand of man. Investigations are underway to understand the nature of these fires. Why do they occur precisely in these days of great heat?. Images are being sought that can identify the alleged arsonists or, otherwise, the ignition by spontaneous combustion of the reeds and brushwood. The most important fire that made us think of something serious was the one on the mountains of Eboli, on which various fronts were started and probably the hand of man is the most likely hypothesis.

The leader of the Brothers of Italy group Damiano Cardiello also intervened at the fire: «It is not possible that fires are set in the hilly area of ​​Eboli close to or immediately after the August bank holiday. Especially the one that connects the provincial road between Eboli and Olive oil which is also full of waste. Garbage that was also found in the area of ​​via Del Lampione in an open-air landfill, always the same one at the beginning of the climb, which now the workers will have to clean up. Cameras at strategic points would be useful, at least as a deterrent».
