John Charpiot and David Harmon were captured and arrested this morning by Coolidge Police and U.S. Marshals officers following multiple calls from local residents, including two who said they “had a clue of who, according to them, were the most remarkable fugitives, ”according to the Coolidge. Further details on where they were captured were not immediately available. Harmon was seen bleeding from his head in an image released by police.

Charpiot and Harmon – who evacuated the Arizona state prison complex in Florence on Saturday – attempted to rob a business soon after, authorities said earlier.

Investigators said both men had persistent medical problems and may have wanted to visit pharmacies or drugstores.

Charpiot was serving a 35-year sentence for child assault and sexual abuse after being convicted in 2011. Harmon was sentenced in 2012 to 100 years in prison for second-degree kidnapping and burglary.

The couple escaped the southern unit of the prison after stealing tools from a laundry room and cutting through a fence, FOX10 Phoenix reported.
