It’s time for the Volvo Car Open 2021 and Amanda Anisimova faced Magda Linette in the first round. In an exciting competition, it was Anisimova who made an incredible comeback. The final score of the match was 5-7, 6-2, 6-3.

Amanda Anisimova looked quite comfortable during the match and was able to take the pressure off. Magda Linette made a lot of mistakes and gave too many points. As a result, the Polish player suffered a defeat in the first round.

Serving in the first, Anisimova didn’t have an ideal start as Linette broke in the very first game. However, the American player retaliated by breaking in the next game to tie the score at 1-1.

But, Linette broke again and quickly took a 3-1 lead with an incredible forehand. Even though Anisimova was lagging behind, she didn’t give up early and quickly equalized the score at 3-3.

The Polish player broke again and extended her lead to 5-3 at the end of the 8th game. The problems increased for Anisimova but she once again performed brilliantly under pressure and made it 5-5.

Linette was also not ready to give in as she broke for the fourth time and this time won the next match also to seal the set 7-5.

Anisimova started the set in style by winning three straight games after breaking the second. With the help of some good serves and feedback, she was back in the game in style.

Even though Linette tried to fight, she kept away from the mighty Anisimova. She managed to reduce the score to 5-2 after breaking in Game 7. However, it might be too late for her in this set.

Anisimova continued her momentum and won 4 consecutive points to close the first game. However, Linette fought back and tied the score in the next game.

The American had regained her form and was not ready to give it up. She broke in Game 4 and increased her lead to 3-1. She also won the next game and extended her lead to 4-1.

Even though Linette tried to defend herself like she did in the first set, Anisimova didn’t make a mistake this time around. The world No.33 player won the seventh game with an almost perfect backhand and was not one game away.

Even though the Polish won the next match, Anisimova was quick to seal the match as she won the next match, won the set 6-2 and therefore won the match.
