The Innsbrucker Haie celebrate a clear 6-1 win in home game against Dornbirn.
“We want a good start after Christmas. It takes a good performance against Dornbirn and three points. ”Haie head coach Rob Pallin once again called on his team against the Vorarlbergers.
The venture home win could not have started better, his charges burned down a real firework in this first third. Michael Boivin made it 1-0 early in the power play (Jan), Jan Lattner followed up with a wonderful solo (5th). The Bulldogs had to time out early, the sharks overran the Vorarlberg in this initial phase according to all the rules of art.
But the short break could not stop the home side, attack after attack there was towards the guest goal. As a result, Joel Broda, John Lammers and Christof Kromp missed further opportunities. In the 14th minute the continuous pressure was converted into hit number three, Jesper Thörnberg ennobled a wonderful preparatory work by Caleb Herbert. With the 0: 3 deficit after third one, the Dornbirn were served very well, the sharks could and should have led well with two goals higher. The section was ended a good 100 seconds earlier anyway, an ice problem required a quick repair.
The team at Coach Pallin didn’t care, Tyler Spurgeon used a breakaway after 25 minutes and skillfully increased to 4: 0. But that was not the end of it, the hosts stayed on the accelerator and delivered wonderful moves. After Daniel Wachter was unable to use one of these combinations, Caleb Herbert made it five minutes later to make it 5-0.
Halfway through the game, the fair had long been read in the TIWAG Arena, the balance of power too clear that evening. And yet, the Bulldogs did not give up without a fight and reduced to 1: 5 in minute 35. The Tyroleans had long ago shifted down a gear, the fourth line was allowed to collect more minutes of use.
In the final section, the sharks then played the game home dry. Ondrej Sedivy scored the final goal with a 6-1 goal ten minutes before the end.
