No more fun: The popular Ebbelwei-Express in Frankfurt is being discontinued again because of the numerous coronavirus infections in the city.
Frankfurt am Main – The equally well-known and popular “Ebbelwei-Express” in Frankfurt is temporarily suspended due to the increased corona infection rate.

The popular “Ebbelwei-Express” in Frankfurt only went back into operation in mid-November.
As of Sunday, the tram, in which the cider and other drinks typical of Frankfurt cuisine are served, should no longer run, as the Frankfurt transport company (VGF) announced on Friday.
It was only in November that the “Ebbelwei-Express” did its rounds again after a year and a half break due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The brightly painted tram has been running through Frankfurt every Saturday, Sunday and public holiday for 44 years now and is a well-established concept for many residents of the Main metropolis.

After Information from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the seven-day incidence for the Main metropolis, i.e. the number of new infections per 100,000 citizens on average over the last seven days, is currently 347.5.
In the last seven days, 2,655 new coronavirus infections have been registered in the city.
According to the RKI, a total of 61,509 corona cases have been counted in Frankfurt since the outbreak of the pandemic.

The seven-day incidence for all of Hesse was last at 270.7. The number fell on Friday compared to Thursday, when the incidence was 279.2. had lain.
