The criticism from Sara Skyttedal against the Christian Democrats’ party leadership concerns, among other things, the rumors surrounding her removal from the party’s EU list, which was motivated by the fact that Sara Skyttedal had contacts with the Sweden Democrats. She is replaced by debater Alice Teodorescu Måwe as KD’s first name on the ballot.
Sara Skyttedal said in her first interview after the scandal that the party had planned to depose her. It is something that party leader Ebba Busch does not agree with:
– It is Sara Skyttedal’s own words that we have taken as our starting point in this handling. It is her we have chosen to listen to, it is her account that is the basis for the decision made by the party board, she says on Wednesday.
Accused of wanting to switch parties
According to Skyttedal, the contact with SD must have consisted of two informal conversations. The conversations are said to have taken place after she lost the party’s trial election. According to her, she should have tried to contact Busch after the audition but received no response, and after that she had the conversations with SD.
Furthermore, she said that Busch must have accused her of having wanted to run for KD and then switch parties to SD.
– I was confronted with something that only exists in Ebba Busch’s imagination, said Sara Skyttedal.
May have a future in the party
However, Ebba Busch is adamant that Sara Skyttedal can have a future in the party. Only on Wednesday did Skyttedal have a direct dialogue with KD after last week’s announcement that she was being poked.
– I think it’s good if we’re allowed some time to pass now, says Ebba Busch.
During the 30-minute interview, Skyttedal also announced that she is leaving KD’s party board.
– It is nothing that we have asked her for, says Ebba Busch.
