eBay launches Pre-Loved Fashion Week, featuring second-hand fashion

eBay’s initiative in London and New York takes advantage of the celebration of their respective Fashion Week promoting a more sustainable approach, with second-hand fashion.

The catwalk shows will precede the official Fashion Week programmes, which will be followed by daily launches on eBay, featuring specially selected second-hand designer fashion.

In London, the catwalk will be led by Amy BannermaneBay UK’s director of secondhand fashion. It will be hosted by model Leomie Anderson, who will showcase items available to buy immediately, as well as celebrating 40 years of London Fashion Week.

Available exclusively at eBay Live On September 12, 2024 at 6:00 p.m., buyers will be able to purchase the pieces from archival collections and iconic designers as models walk the runway.

In New York, the Endless Runway It will also take place during the city’s Fashion Week, with a collection designed by Wisdom Kaye and presented by fashion writer Liana Satenstein.

Second-hand goods are a must, especially for high-end items

  • Comparison of new product salesWhile sales of new products decreased by 12%, their monetary value showed a slight increase of 9%. This suggests that although consumers are buying fewer new products, they are willing to invest more in quality items.
