In this regard, Dr. Bahaa Naji, a clinical nutrition consultant, said that dates are among the summer fruits that help to lose excess weight, and the reason is due to:
Low calories: Dates contain 37 calories per 28 grams of them, which may increase or decrease depending on the type.
– Its ability to curb appetite: dates are characterized by their high content of dietary fiber, which helps to feel full for a long time.

Naji added that there is no objection to eating dates before going to bed while dieting, stressing that it does not cause weight gain when eating it at night, as is rumored among many people.
He stressed that the time of eating food throughout the day has no effect on the body mass index, but rather it is related to the amount consumed, indicating that dates increase weight, if only they are excessive.

In order to avoid weight gain when eating dates, the therapeutic nutrition consultant recommended not consuming more than 7 dates within the allowed calories per day, with the necessity of regular exercise.
