Unlike +62 citizens who prefer barbecued beef or chicken satay, gatherings in North Carolina serve a menu carrying meat. However, because some people eat undercooked meat, trichinellosis is suspected.
From a new study to 34 respondents, 22 of whom admitted to eating uncooked bear meat at a gathering event in November 2023. Of the 22, 10 had symptoms of trichinellosis.
Of the 10 cases, nine patients had facial swelling, six complained of muscle pain, and four had fever. As a result, most patients with symptoms of these parasitic infections need to be prescribed medication to treat worm infections. The medicine is albendazole.

Trichinellosis is a disease caused by the larvae of parasitic roundworms of the genus Trichinella. Trichynellosis is usually associated with consumption of undercooked pork.
Trichinella infection can cause alarming symptoms. If you eat meat and swallow the larvae, the larvae can develop into adult worms in the digestive tract.
In the United States, it is legal to own and eat bear meat, according to Outdoor Life. However, this cannot be sold cheaply, detikers.
Trichinella is thought to be present in between 1-24% of Canadian and Alaskan black bears. This parasite is also very hardy and some species can die just by freezing.
If you still want to eat bear meat, it is recommended to cook game meat to a safe internal temperature above 74°C. This temperature is sufficient to kill parasites and prevent disease. So reported IFLS science.
