JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – The Windows 11 operating system was officially released and can be downloaded yesterday (5/10/2021).
Microsoft says Windows 11 can also be purchased for use on new PCs or laptop devices.
In this update, Microsoft requires devices to have Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 support to run Windows 11.
If you don’t have that support, unfortunately, Windows 11 can’t be installed on your PC or laptop.
TPM is a module chip whose job is to protect various data stored on a computer or laptop with an encrypted system.

In the case of theft, if your Windows 11 device is stolen by a thief, the perpetrator must break into the TPM system to be able to hijack various file in that device.
Microsoft also provides a way to independently check whether a PC or laptop device is equipped with TPM 2.0 which is a requirement for installing Windows 11 or not. Here’s how:
How to check TPM to install Windows 11 on PC/laptop
You can open the TPM Management system to find out if your hardware supports the requirements for installing Windows 11.
- Press the “Windows” and “R” keys simultaneously on the keyboard, or type the keyword “Run” in the “Start” menu.
- Enter the command “tpm.msc” (without quotes) then click the “OK” button.
- Wait until the “TPM Management” system application display appears.
- Pay attention to the status column, if it says “The TPM is ready for use,” you can be sure your computer supports TPM.
- Next look at the TPM Manufacturer Information column to see the TPM version.
- If the “Status” column says “Compatible TPM Cannot Be Found”, then your computer is not equipped with TPM or the chip is disabled, so Windows 11 will not be able to install.
