Easy Pork Chops in Honey Garlic Sauce Recipe

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven broiler (or grill) to medium-high heat. Season chops with salt, pepper, and garlic powder just before cooking. Heat oil in a skillet or skillet over medium high heat until hot. Sear the chops on both sides until golden brown and cooked through (about 4-5 minutes per side). Transfer them to a plate and reserve.
  2. Reduce heat to medium. Melt the shortening in the same skillet, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Sauté garlic until fragrant (about 30 seconds). Add honey, water and vinegar. Increase heat to medium-high and continue cooking until sauce is reduced and slightly thickened (about 3-4 minutes), stirring occasionally.
  3. Add the pork back to the pan, drizzle generously with the sauce, and grill for 1-2 minutes, or until the edges are lightly charred. Garnish with parsley and serve over vegetables, rice, pasta or with a salad.
