Easy Access to Luxembourg Airport from Nancy, Metz, and Thionville: Tram Service to Findel in 2024/2025

The tram will soon serve Findel. What makes it easier to reach the Luxembourg airport from Nancy, Metz or Thionville.

Thousands of Moselle and Meurthe-et-Mosellans choose the Findel to take the plane, as part of their business trips or to go on vacation. And for many, getting to Luxembourg airport is accompanied by a bit of anxiety because you have to deal with road traffic and sometimes saturated (and paying) car parks.

Another option may be considered by winter 2024/2025. It will then be possible to take the TER (which should increase in rate), then, at Luxembourg station, to board the tram which will drop off travelers at the foot of the airport, free of charge. Which also applies the other way around.

During a recent press briefing, it was confirmed that the 3.9 km section linking the Kirchberg Plateau to Findel is continuing with the construction of the bridge (110 m) spanning the A1 motorway, which marks an important step in the extension of the tram. From the start of the 2023 school year, the construction site to install the tracks will be launched. The commissioning of this last section will make it possible to finalize the 16 km of the first line of the Luxembourg tram, from the airport to the Cloche d’Or.
