The upstream sector Arc, which mainly covers Aix-en-Provence, as well as the upstream sectors Arc aval, Huveaune and Touloubre, has been put on reinforced alert, thus limiting cargo -Residential 45 municipalities in their water consumption.

“Too low intensity” rainfall to stop decline in river flows

Despite the strong storm event that affected the region on August 15, the prefecture points out that “these showers were too low and too short to stop the trend towards a general decline in the flow rates on rivers due to lack of rainfall and extreme heat. which has affected the sector since the end of July. The “emergency” level prevents the withdrawal of water for agriculture (in whole or in part), for many domestic uses and for public spaces.

The “higher alert” level then leads to restrictions on watering, filling and emptying swimming pools, washing vehicles and watering crops.
