Of course, we will also travel to follow the traditions of our compatriots in different corners of the world – in Croatia, Bosnia or Romania, but also in exotic destinations such as Argentina or Brazil. But not only that – have you heard of the pie map, the iron pie, and do you think Petra Burianová will also burn something here and there?

Petra Burianová’s interesting journey, with which “the whole country went to hell” in the end, what do you say? Of course, we start on Easter Monday with the traditions, so you will find out what it is customary to prepare from them among the Burians. It’s not enough, I wouldn’t expect anything else from a woman who enjoys everything related to crafts and folk traditions.
That is why, for example, in the list of courses he organizes, in addition to baking Easter pastries or various techniques for decorating Easter eggs, there are, for example, the skills of working with wicker, straw and plucking feathers.
Cakes for Easter too
Petra Burianová corrected me in the opinion that pies are not so typical for the Easter holidays, and I then hesitated a bit about pies in the interview.

I think that even you receivers will be interested in what a “pie map” is and how far Petra Burianová is from it. Just like you will find out what is the secret of “iron” cakes in Bosnia.
Costumes with diamonds and peanut rolls

You and Petra Burianova could also visit our compatriots in the TV show “Baking on Sunday”. Which we indulged in on the radio waves as well. And that’s why you’ll hear that, for example, in South America, you can see women in our costumes not with a traditional headscarf, but with a diamond crown. And compatriots in distant destinations miss the classic ingredients.
Therefore, traditional dishes often have exotic modifications. And so you can taste vanilla rolls with peanut flavor or frgali with jelly from the fruit of the quince pear tree. That’s a Czech-Brazilian originality.
Instead of a macaroon, a lollipop
My travel case also hid many surprises for Petra Burianová. You will find out why I had a macaroon with me in addition to a bow tie, a syringe or “Janoš’s” Pardubice gingerbread. Although I directed my partner at the microphone to the topic of French specialties with the French confection, I did not charm her in any way.

They say that she likes to prefer our classic fondant, which is quite similar to macaroons. But on the way to France, we were still delayed.
Pastries to France and a dream
Petra Burianová’s first-born daughter lives in France. And so it is said that it is not uncommon for a family to take with them to the land of the Gaelic Rooster several pieces of luggage filled with our traditional pastries or treats. During our radio tour, we will also talk more about Petra Burianová’s desire to complete an internship in a popular confectionery school in France.
Journeys home and Journey from the dough
In the latest edition of the program “On the road” we will travel with Petra Burianová to places in Bohemia and Moravia. Her book Cesta z testa – by the way, the best-selling cookbook of 2020 – will also help us. I am interviewing an avid collector of ideas and recipes that have already been proven and regionally adapted.
Němčova, but also svinůrky, krompeláky or žybáky

Petra Burianová says that she is a bit like Božena Němcová because of her penchant for collecting regional recipes, ideas and experiences. But we will also reveal to you what is hidden under unusual names such as svinůrka, krompelák, what are chips and other gastronomic “oddities”.
And if you are interested in whether Petra Burianová also sometimes burns something and why there was also an ordinary roll in the briefcase, tune in to Český rozhlas Hradec Králové or Český rozhlas Pardubice on the holiday Monday, April 1, after the news at 18:00. It’s not April Fools – we look forward to seeing you or find us in the audio archive of the program “On the road with Petr Voldán”.
