Several hundred demonstrators in Stuttgart

In Stuttgart there was the central Baden-Württemberg Easter March on Holy Saturday. The organizers demanded, among other things, an end to the war and disarmament instead of rearmament.

The Peace March in Stuttgart started with a bicycle parade at the premises of the European Command of the United States (EUCOM) in Stuttgart-Vaihingen and ended at the Schlossplatz in the city center. According to police, the event was quiet. The focus was on the war in Ukraine. The participants called for peace through disarmament. Arms deliveries to Ukraine would only fuel the war. The massive rearmament of the Bundeswehr was also criticized.

1,500 participants were registered for the Stuttgart rally. Dieter Lachenmayer from the Baden-Württemberg peace network spoke of 2,500 demonstrators.

The Ulm Easter March began on Saturday afternoon with a demonstration in front of the Wilhelmsburg barracks. “The NATO headquarters in Ulm is simply part of the escalation and rearmament towards the East and Russia,” said the organizer of the Ulm Easter March, Ralf Schmid, who works as a theologian and religion teacher in Ulm.
