TRYSIL (Dagbladet): Skiing, Easter, cloudless skies and snow-covered alpine slopes. In Trysil, for the first time in three years, there are crowded ski slopes and outdoor cafes, and on the après ski, full thrust is expected during the evening.
For the first time in three years, Tommy Åsheim, general manager at Laaven in Trysil, can look beyond a packed après ski.
– Touching
Already at 3 pm the queue was a few hundred meters long and people were dancing on the tables. This is how the king of après ski is touched.
– After I stood here yesterday and saw the 2000 people who were here, I went to the office and actually cried. We have been waiting for this for so long, it is touching, he says to Dagbladet.
Good Friday describes Åsheim as the highlight of Easter. On Maundy Thursday, 3,000 people stopped by during the day, and he expects nothing less for Friday.
– It’s going to be absolutely magical. We will deliver an experience of a lifetime that people will remember for the rest of the year.
– Slightly tired and burnt out
Around 44,000 telephones were registered in Trysil yesterday, which has about 6,500 inhabitants. During the entire Easter week, Åsheim expects between 10,000 and 12,000 visitors in total.
– Easter is incredibly important for the whole of Trysil. It should be sun, party, fun, and families who should ski. With the weather we have today, it does not get better. It’s just joy.
He will perform himself during the day, as his alter ego “Tommy Schnell”. For the first time since the pandemic shut down the country, he was on stage the night before.
– Tommy Schnell was on stage for the first time since the pandemic closed the country yesterday. He has been a little bored and burnt out, he says.
