– The royal couple will celebrate Easter at Prinsehytta in Sikkilsdalen, and the Crown Prince’s family will go to Uvdal, Guri Varpe, head of communications at the Palace, tells NTB.

Ever since 1924, the royal family has made a pilgrimage to the prince’s cottage, which is the family’s private property.

The traditions of Easter celebrations in Sikkilsdalen go back a long way for the royal couple. Here from 1993.

The cabin is located in Sikkilsdalen in Jotunheimen, a side valley to Gudbrandsdalen up from Vinstra. To get there, they usually take a train to Vinstra and a tracked vehicle on.

The royal couple have on a number of occasions pointed out what a gem Prinsehytta is, and that the traditions there mean a lot.

The Crown Prince couple will spend Easter at their cottage in Uvdal. They bought the cabin in Fjellsnaret in Nore og Uvdal in 2007.
