During the Easter holidays, the non-profit association offers an open offer on the children’s and youth farm in the afternoons. The afternoon activities are free of charge and are aimed at children from the age of six. The farm area is closed on public holidays.
The farm area is located on the Offenbacher Buch Hügel at Buch Hügelallee 94, between the weather park and the vocational school center. The pedagogically accompanied play offer attracts with a hut village, farm garden, sandpit, football field and plenty of space to romp and play. Play stations such as a paving construction site, a slackline, the mud kitchen or the climbing net invite you to try things out and play. There are also farm animals with sheep, chickens, bee colonies and rabbits. Here the children can take responsibility for caring for the animals and learn a lot about the needs of the animals.
In the first week of the Easter holidays, the opening times are from Monday, April 3rd to Thursday, April 6th, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Each day is enriched by a themed Easter offer. Easter eggs are dyed on Monday, Easter pictures are painted with acrylic paints on Tuesday, Easter bunnies are made out of wood on Wednesday and on Thursday there is a big Easter egg hunt and a campfire.
In the second week of the holiday, the farm will be open from Tuesday, April 11 to Friday, April 14, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. In the mornings from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. there are supervised holiday games with a special garden project. However, this is only for registered children. A binding registration is now possible on the farm during opening hours.
In the third week from Tuesday, April 18th to Friday, April 21st, there will be an open afternoon. On Tuesday handicrafts are made with natural materials, on Wednesday stones are painted, on Thursday a mosaic decoration is created for the garden and on Friday bracelets and necklaces are made from beads and ribbons.
At the end of the holidays, the big spring festival will be held on Sunday, April 23rd. The association invites you to the 20th anniversary of the association on Sunday, April 23, 2023, from 2 to 6 p.m. on the farm premises. The large area on the Offenbacher Buchhügel then turns into a colorful family festival with games for children, a child-friendly stage program with music, clowns and magic, sausages from the grill, cake buffet and of course a large raffle with attractive prizes. The Spielmobil, many friendly Offenbach clubs, artists and of course the great outdoor area is ideal for playing and romping. On the occasion of the anniversary, the patron of the association, Lord Mayor Dr. Felix Schwenke, and will look back together with the board on the work of the association over the past 20 years.
