EastEnders fans amazed how it turns out that 26-year-old Peter Beale is still getting some pocket money from his father, Ian

EASTENDERS fans were stunned last night when it became known that Peter Beale was still receiving a donation from his father Ian.

The Walford character turns 27 in December and works in various locations across the square – including the Vic and Walford East – while still living at home.

On yesterday’s episode of BBC One soap, Peter was seen asking his father to give him back his pocket money after the ailing businessman told Max that he had the money to pay him.

asked Peter: “So if you are liquid, can you pay my pocket money again?”

Ian replied, “I can’t pay out your pocket money, I had to borrow the money to pay it back to Max.

Towards the end of the episode, Peter learned that Ian had secretly taken out a new mortgage on his mother Kathy’s cafe to get the money and confronted him with the scam.

In a fiery argument, Ian used pocket money as extortion and struck: “Why are you always trying to cause trouble? I thought about getting your pocket money back, but why should I support a son who doesn’t support me?

Needless to say, the audience at home was more focused on Peter, who is nearly 30 years old and still getting pocket money from his father, than Ian’s latest scam.

A fan wrote on Twitter: “Why does Peter Beale have“ pocket money ”at his age? Is it real? “

asked another: “Does Peter get any pocket money when he approaches 30? You can’t make that up. “

A third joked: “Pocket money? The boy is damn 30! “

Another pointed out how atypical it was for the notoriously stingy Ian to tweet, “Um, why does Peter have pocket money? How old is he 12? And from Ian of all people ?! ”

asked another: “Sorry… .How old is Peter Beale? Does he still get pocket money ?! “

Peter and his twin sister Lucy were born in December 1993, and their grandfather, also known as Peter, died on the same day as they were born in EastEnders.

He also has his own four-year-old son, Louie, whom he shares with former Lauren Branning.

The character has been played by seven actors over the years, with Dayle Hudson slipping into the role in early 2020.
