East Java DBD Cases Reach Thousands, These 5 Regions Are the Highest Contributors

GenPI.co East Java – The East Java Provincial Government recorded cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF), in January 2022 it infected 1,220 people and 21 of them died.

The East Java Health Office (Dinkes) noted that from January 1-27, 2022, the majority of dengue fever occurred at the age of 5-14 years.

Several regions have the highest number of dengue cases in East Java, namely Bojonegoro Regency with 112 people, Nganjuk Regency with 82 people, Malang Regency with 73 people, Ponorogo Regency with 64 people and Tuban Regency with 61 people.

Meanwhile, three regions in East Java recorded the highest number of deaths, namely Pamekasan Regency 3 people, Bojonegoro Regency 2 people and Nganjuk Regency 2 people.

The case of DHF in East Java in 2022 has increased, when compared to the previous year.

It was recorded that in 2021, the number of dengue cases in East Java was 668 people and 5 of them died.

In total, during last year there were 6,417 people who fell ill with this disease, while 71 of them died.

The Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa said that the community at this time must also be aware of this dengue disease.

“In addition to Covid-19, we also have to share our attention and vigilance with DHF,” he said, Friday (28/1).
