At least nine people were shot last night in East Harlem, one of them lost his life.
The shooting happened after midnight near 139th Street and the Harlem River Drive.
At the scene, emergency workers found five people with gunshot wounds and they were transported to area hospitals.
Another four people reached medical centers by their own means.
The victims include two women and seven men. The young man who lost his life was 21 years old.
The incident is under investigation but no arrests have yet been made.
