In the theatrical version of “Social Fear Cancer”, the “i person” Tony Leung Chiu Wai turned into an “e person” and pried open the heart of “social fear” Eason Chan. Eason Chan plays a “social terrorist” who is afraid to go out. He rushes out of the house due to an accident, but forgets to bring the key. Tony Leung plays a friendly locksmith and smiles brightly many times in the film.
At the press conference, Eason Chan revealed an interesting story about the cooperation. He said that Tony Leung readily agreed, which surprised him: “He thought about it on the phone and then agreed. Instead, I wanted to say: Huh? Do you want to do it again?” Think about it?”
The director of the theatrical version, Zhang Jiebang, revealed that Tony Leung is very dedicated, “He holds the script and discusses with us which part should express what mood.”
Eason Chan also revealed that he originally planned to invite Jacky Cheung to play the role of a building security guard, but was unable to do so due to scheduling issues. “Actually, Jacky Cheung has already agreed. What a great thing! “Ya Fei and Yaki” are reunited, yeah! It’s a pity that the filming of the theatrical version has been postponed, and Jacky Cheung can’t come to shoot.”
