Acting (Plt) Head of the local Health Service, Amir Hidayat said that since the past week many Banyuwangi people have felt symptoms of viral conjunctivitis.
“The increase in cases was twice as fast as the previous week. In fact, the increase continued for three times weekly monitoring,” said Head of the Banyuwangi Health Office, Amir Hidayat, Friday (6/24/2022).
Amir said the increase in the number of cases conjunctivitis virus in Banyuwangi Regency is quite significant.
“On June 1-7, 236 cases were found. Then on June 8-14, it increased to 312 cases. Then on June 15-21 the number of cases of Conjunctivitis Virus fell to 308 cases,” explained Amir.
Although the movement of the number of cases of viral conjunctivitis fluctuates, the Banyuwangi Health Office said that the case had not yet entered an extraordinary event (KLB).
“KLB can not be enforced and proven by existing indicators,” said Amir.
For that, Amir appealed to the people of Banyuwangi who have been exposed to the Conjunctivitis Virus to keep their distance so they don’t get infected. “Don’t be close, take medicine and rest,” said Amir.
